Launching Ambition Institute

March 12, 2019

March 11 marked the launch of Ambition Institute, a new graduate school that aims to help teachers, school leaders and system leaders to #KeepGettingBetter.

It was great to see that news of our launch made the front pages of Tes and Schools Week.

We launched a campaign on Twitter, sparking conversations about how we can all #KeepGettingBetter:

And received some great support from the sector:

An exciting day culminated in our launch reception, bringing together leaders from across the education sector, from school and system leaders to policymakers, government officials and our partners.

The event was kindly hosted by Oasis Academy South Bank, whose Principal, Carly Mitchell, is a graduate of our Future Leaders programme.

John Murphy, CEO of Oasis Learning Community, welcomed guests and shared his experience of working with Ambition.

Baroness Sally Morgan, Ambition Institute's Chair of Trustees, shared the journey we've travelled to become Ambition Institute.

Our interim CEO Melanie Renowden then gave guests full introduction to Ambition Institute. You can read more about our graduate school approach in Melanie's blog.

We were grateful to the Secretary of State for Education, Damian Hinds MP, for sending his support via video.

We then held a panel, fuelling lively debate from those on the floor and in the audience when we asked a series of questions around 'how do we keep getting better?'

We wanted to spark a conversation about what makes great professional development...

... and our guests did not disappoint!

This is just the start of the conversation. We really value your input, so we can #KeepGettingBetter.

A huge thank you to all our guests, and those who joined on Twitter. And finally, thank you to the brilliant Oasis Academy South Bank choir!
