Response to DfE consultation on Qualified Teacher Status
March 9, 2018
Ambition School Leadership, in consultation with its network of school leaders and education partners, has submitted an official response to the Department for Education’s open consultation on the future of Qualified Teacher Status and ongoing professional development for teachers.
Ambition School Leadership welcomes this consultation as a timely review of the support for early-career teachers and how this informs teacher retention and the school leadership pipeline.
It is crucial that early-career teachers are given the training, tools and support to make impact from their first day in the classroom; and provided with ongoing specialist professional development which enables them to improve their practice, excel in their roles and progress their careers in the school system.
